Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the PaperDock web app, collaboration tools, LaTeX compilation, MCP interface, integrations, and related services during the Public Beta.

Public Beta

PaperDock Public Beta is provided at no charge. There are no paid plans, automatic charges, or service-level commitments during the beta. Features, limits, retention periods, and availability may change as we test and improve the service.

Accounts

You may create an account using a supported Google or GitHub sign-in. You are responsible for protecting your account and connected-agent access. You must provide accurate account information and must not use another person's account without permission.

Projects and Collaboration

You may create private LaTeX projects and invite other people as editors or viewers. The project manager controls membership and is responsible for choosing collaborators. Actions taken by project members are visible to other authorized members and may be retained in project history.

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to PaperDock. You grant PaperDock a limited license to store, copy, process, compile, display, and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service. You represent that you have the rights needed to upload and share the content.

AI Agents and Third-Party Services

You may connect your own AI agent or external services such as Zotero and Mendeley. Connected services are operated by third parties and are governed by their terms. You are responsible for reviewing agent proposals and outputs before accepting or relying on them. PaperDock does not guarantee that automated edits, citations, or responses are correct.

Compilation

PaperDock may compile project files in an isolated server-side environment. Compiler output, PDFs, logs, diagnostics, and SyncTeX mappings may be incomplete or incorrect. Do not rely on compilation as a security scanner, backup service, or substitute for reviewing your source and final document.

Free Beta Limits

Usage is subject to the limits displayed in the product, including project, membership, file, storage, invitation, rate, and compile limits. New cache-miss compilations are currently available once every 30 seconds; cached results and an already active matching job do not use that cooldown. When a limit is reached, PaperDock may block new or capacity-increasing actions while continuing to permit access, download, export, or deletion where practical. There is no paid upgrade during the beta.

Acceptable Use

You may not use PaperDock to violate law, infringe rights, distribute malware, expose private information without authorization, evade usage limits, probe or bypass security controls, interfere with other users, or consume excessive resources. You may not use compilation or connected-agent features to execute unauthorized code or access systems, files, or networks outside your project.

Availability and Data

The beta is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We may suspend, limit, or discontinue features to address security, abuse, reliability, or operational issues. You are responsible for keeping independent copies of important projects. PaperDock does not promise uninterrupted operation or permanent retention of content during the beta.

Suspension and Termination

You may stop using PaperDock at any time. We may restrict or terminate access if we reasonably believe these terms were violated, an account creates security or operational risk, or continued service is not feasible. Where practical, we will allow you to export your content before termination unless doing so would create legal or security risk.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaperDock disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, research work, profits, or opportunities arising from the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms as PaperDock evolves. We will update the date above and provide reasonable notice of material changes. Continuing to use the service after revised terms take effect means you accept them.
